Meet The Team

I have been working at the Georgians for the last three years. Prior to that from 2003, I worked in alternative education provisions for SEND children working toward level 4 School Business Management qualification.

I had a brief period with Lincs County Council working in Adult Social Care through Manpower services. Prior to that, I worked in customs clearance for a Norwegian shipping company. I have worked in Insurance, building society and banking roles. I spent eight years working in Germany working for Naafi Financial Services who also supported Abbey national banking and Thomas Cook Travel.

I was 15 when I started working at the Georgians on a youth training scheme and stayed 7 years and was team leader when I left to explore further career opportunities. I have worked in care for 32 years in various roles at senior level and in intensive care for many years. I am a certified care home practitioner enabling me to carry out a clinical role, certified manual handling, first aid trainer and have a care manager qualification and a level 5 leadership and management qualification.

Melvin's impressive career in care demonstrates his commitment and perseverance.  His journey, from Carer to Staff Nurse, and ultimately to leadership positions such as Head of Care, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager, has provided him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of care.

His combination of practical experience, clinical skills, and compassionate leadership makes him a valuable member of our team.  His experience in intensive care settings brings specialized expertise that benefits our residents.

At The Georgians, Melvin's extensive background supports his resident-focused approach, ensuring our residents receive excellent clinical care and the dignity and respect they deserve. His unique perspective, gained through his advancement from caregiver to home manager, makes him ideally suited to lead our nursing team and maintain The Georgians' high standards of care.
